First Set Of 411 Nigerians Escaping The Russia – Ukraine War Arrived Today In Abuja.

On Wednesday, $8.5 million was approved by the Federal Government for the immediate evacuation of 5000 Nigerians stranded as a result of the Russian invasion into Ukraine.

The Government had earlier scheduled the arrival of the first batch of evacuees for Thursday,  the flight was rescheduled but finally the first set of 411 Nigerians escaping the ongoing war in Ukraine arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja this morning at exactly 7:11am via the Nigerian airline – Max Air.

The returnees were received at the airport in Abuja by Edward Adedekun, director search and rescue of the National Emergency management Agency (NEMA), officials of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) and the the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
