A large number of  women including activists, opinion leaders and professionals from the Niger Delta region have threatened to march round the streets of Port Harcourt, Rivers state as well as
the corporate headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission naked if the President, Major General
Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), fails to inaugurate a substantive board of the commission within seven days.

The women,  under the auspices of Wailing Women of Niger Delta (WWND) bemoaned that the people of the Niger Delta region had been stepping on for too long while those they looked up to had let them down.

In a statement made on Monday in Port Harcourt  by some members of Integrity Friends for Truth and Peace Initiative, who accompanied the women, told journalists that lack of substantive board for NDDC had  impoverished the region and struck it with the hardship

Oney Nwadighi the President of WWND,   read the statement in Port Harcourt on Monday, “The current running stalemate at the NDDC is due to the non-compliance with the Act establishing the commission and this is a grievous breach of trust.
